I’m Jameesha Harris — a proud wife, mother of three, community advocate, and a dedicated voice for Craven County. Since making this my home in 2010, I’ve worked alongside neighbors, organizations, and local leaders to uplift our community and bring real solutions to the people who live here.
My journey has always been rooted in service. I was the youngest woman ever elected to the New Bern Board of Aldermen, and during my time in office, I stood up for small businesses, public education, and economic opportunity— always leading with the belief that leadership starts by listening and showing up.
When Hurricane Florence devastated our community, I was on the front lines — from helping coordinate rescues to organizing pop-up food distributions throughout Craven County. I didn’t just hold office — I held space for the people who needed it most.
I’m also a breast cancer survivor, the daughter of a Vietnam veteran, and a working mom of three (with two energetic Boxers at home). I understand the real-life challenges that many families in District 3 face because I live them too — juggling work, parenting, and still finding the strength to serve.
I currently serve on the North Carolina Human Relations Commission, representing District 3 at the state level, where I work to advance fairness, equality, and stronger community connections. I hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and bring both professional skill and lived experience to the table.
I’m also a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., through the Zeta Pi Sigma Alumna Chapter in Greenville, NC. Founded on the principles of sisterhood, scholarship, and service, Sigma Gamma Rho stands for uplifting communities through education, leadership, and social action — values I carry in every step of this journey.
This campaign isn’t about parties — it’s about people. It’s about accountability, transparency, and the kind of leadership that shows up, listens, and takes action for all of Craven County.
We’re gathering signatures to get Jameesha Harris on the ballot as an Unaffiliated Candidate for NC House District 3.
